DOCOMO Pacific, a telecommunications company, confirmed that it experienced a cyber security incident on Friday, in which some of its servers were targeted.
The system intrusion was reportedly isolated, with no damage to customer data, mobile network, or fiber services. However, other services were impacted, and the company’s CEO, Roderick Boss, said that they are working to restore services as soon as possible.
Affected customers are being encouraged to use DOCOMO Pacific’s mobile data plans to tether access to other devices at no additional cost.
Nevertheless, an ETA for full system restoration has not been provided.
The company has not disclosed any further details about the nature of the cyber attack or the number of affected servers.
This incident comes on the heels of another security breach that affected the Guam Memorial Hospital’s internal network on March 2.
The hospital confirmed the breach and said that the FBI was conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter. The hospital has not disclosed any further details about the nature of the breach or the extent of the damage.
Cybersecurity incidents have become increasingly common in recent years, with businesses and organizations of all sizes being targeted.
These incidents can result in data breaches, financial losses, and reputational damage. As a result, many companies are investing heavily in cybersecurity measures to protect their systems and networks from potential attacks.
