A new information stealer malware called “Stealc” has recently been discovered on the dark web and has quickly gained popularity due to its extensive data-stealing capabilities and aggressive promotion by its creator, “Plymouth.”
Similar to other malware of its kind like Vidar and Raccoon, Stealc is advertised as having an easy-to-use administration panel and can target various file types beyond web browser data and cryptocurrency wallets. Security researchers have identified over 40 C2 servers for Stealc and believe it poses a significant threat, as it could be adopted by less technical cybercriminals.
